Default Mustang Seat

Juse a heads up. I ordered a Mustang Sport Touring seat for my 95' e-glide and it does not come back far enough for passenger. I have a corbin that is 3" longer and a fresh specialties that 2.5" longer. I have ran the wide touring on 4 different bikes without issue.

It looks like the seat isn't mounted right.
I don't know of any seat that is supposed to cover the bottom of the tank consol.

Have you contacted Mustang and sent them that picture?
It may be a manufacturers defect.

It is mounted correctly. That is how they sit on 89-95 model flht's. The dash panel stops where the seat starts. I contacted them and was told "the seat can't be to short or the mount wouldn't line up". I included pictures of all 3 seats so they could see the difference. Haven't received a reply since. I can assure you it was mounted correctly. I've been around bikes my whole life and used to chop them up. After waiting a few days for a reply, I called them and was told that "it was made that way to accommodate different options". I used to be a fan of Mustang seats. Not sure what I'm going to try next. Seats are very limited for my year.

Can't you move the tour pak forward? It looks like you have to room to do so.

They are probably right, if you have a full sized passenger pad with arm rests it might fit. Yours seems to be very thin.

However, I think the way they use the term "sports" suggests it is going to be smaller, i.e. a "1.5", mostly one up and not for long distance two up riding.

What the problem, is your passenger too big to fit in the gap or is the backrest too far back for them?

They do that on Road Kings too. It acts like a chute for rainwater.

I did return it. Just wanted to give a heads up in case anyone else was considering a purchase.

It is an aftermarket tour pack and it does sit back a little further than stock. If you look at the mounting plate for the tour pack you can see the gap. No matter how you look at it the mustang is 2.5-3" shorter than my corbin, drag specialties and stock OEM seat. I'very had them all mounted measured them with a tape measure.

I think that's the issue then, not the seat.

I've bought a few Mustang seats. They are good quality, and I've found their customer service faultless.

It was surely the "sport" version that messed up your seating arrangement. I have the wide touring with conchos on my 94 with the tourpak back a bit and it fits nicely in there.

Go with the wide touring and you'll be golden dude.
