I did look at the ECM, and it does have the tunable ECM which was the Screaming Eagle, stage one kit. The 1996 ECM was not tunable, according to the internet

I want that feeling! I have a brand new American Elite rear tire to put on sitting in my garage. And a brand new tire changer ready to be set up and broke in. I just spent 8 hours cleaning up my shop after umpteen projects completed later, it was getting dangerous out there. Now I need to get to changing tires, will be a first timer at this endeavor. Going to give the beads a try on that rear tire. If I'm not happy with that, I will grab a balancer and do it the old fashioned way.

If you want to get jealous look up a man named Bean're. That man does not let the moss grow.

Look at the front of your engine and pull the crankshaft positioner out and clean it off. I was surprised at how much gunk was on it and how much better the bike felt after. While you're there change the O-ring seal before you reinstall it.

While I buy a new touring bike every two years the 1996 FB is still here. A bike I never get tired of riding. Added a side car to it last month still a great ride.
To this day all I do is the normal maintance and ride it.
The new RGU and Old FB will do just fine side by side.

My Flht turns 21 in October.
I believe I will buy it a beer.
I took me to Sturgis and back this year without a bit of trouble.
I think I'll keep it.
