96 flhri fuel or sensor issue??! Help!!
Hi,
My 96 RK mm injection recently started having issues.. It starts and idles as it should , but recently after riding it for about 10-15 min it occasional sputters and dies , like it ran out of gas.. If I wait for 30-60 seconds and start it .. It fires up .. But then continues this behavior .. It also seems to have almost a flat spot or hesitation at low rpm acceleration ... My 1st thought .. Maybe fuel pump I going out ? This is what I've recently done to try and fix my CEL that comes on with these conditions ... Replaced engine temp sensor and TPS and reset MM system with multi Meter ..(starts and isles better now) but stalking issue isn't solved .. Could lifting gas tank to replace temp sensor damage something ? the fuel pump fuse recently popped too.. Replaced , but stalking still happening ... Any help would be greatly appreciated !!
Thank you in Advance !!

In the bottom of the fuel tank fittings is a small pipe plug that will allow you to install a fuel pressure gauge to keep from guessing., it is a smaller thread but a pipe thread to compression fitting is available to set up a gauge but in the automotive world a blown fuel pump fuse usually means a pump is dragging on the electrical side blowing the fuse

Is the connector for the crank position sensor that goes from front oil filter to the computer (near saddlebag) tight.
The connector is on the throttle side, behind saddle bag / side cover and very close to under seat frame area.
It is a push and twist black pencil thick connector.
Also, check for a loose piece of liner in tank causing a plugged fuel inlet.

By the time you pull the tank, pull the intake to gain access to the fuel pressure regulator on a guess blows the heck out of troubleshooting guidelines. What blew the fuel pump fuse? melted fuse holder? weak fuse? rubbed wire? fuel pump pulling excessive amps?
If stalling, a melted ignition sensor in the nose cone could be present, will loose spark, pull a plug wire and crank the engine to check when the problem is present. Crank sensor will kill the signal to the injectors, both sensors can shut a engine down and restart when cooling off, both can shut a engine down and not throw a code.
