Can u take a look at this engine.....
So I've been looking for a replacement engine for my 89 tour glide as I'm 90% sure my cases r weeping and was planning on putting something slightly bigger in it over the winter. Nothing too crazy and I stumbled on this. Seems to have a little cc increase and some basic upgrades. My tourglide oil filter is in the back under the tranny, will this engine work? can I make it work with parts off my evo engine?

If you take the front oil filter bracket off, and adjust the in/out fittings on the oil pump, I think that would work nicely using your original below the tranny oil filter mount. You can mount a faux oil filter up front and use it as a stash box. Just thinking out loud here.
That's a funny way of mounting the tear drop air cover....hmm...
Another option is to rebuild what you have to a bigger engine, and use different cases. I'm not there where you are yet, so I like to know what you chose, and your opinion after the fact. Thanks.

If it is what he says it is it would definitely be worth taking a look at for $2000.
You would have more than that in parts before labor to rebuild yours using new cases.
Maybe it's just me but I'm always skeptical of a motor put together by someone I don't know.... And why would someone build it and not put it in something??

What do you mean by "weeping cases"...could be easy to repair. i would much rather have an engine with a matching VIN if at all possible.

Wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole if I didn't know the person that built it...if it throws a rod in the first ten miles ...what then? The ad is not completely truthful...85 CID is not big bore cylinders...an 80" evo is actually 82 CID.

There are/were aftermarket 85" kits, which came with higher CR pistons. They are simply max bore ID. You are right about stock capacity, each rebore size increasing capacity by approx 1", hence +.060 IIRC gives ~85".
