Looking at a 94 Ultra Classic
#11
I've always been a Harley lover but was living on a Honda Shadow budget. I am now pulling some money together to get a bike I can tour with and love riding. The Missus and I did not enjoy long rides on the Shadow.
I am considering a 1994 Ultra Classic, 13,000kms on the new engine. I'm not above some wrench work but am not a mechanic either. Some folks say to get something newer as they have fewer issues than older bikes. This one has a lot of adds to it and is running around $10,000. I'm seeing newer bikes with lots of mileage on them for just a bit more. I know this guy too and he's a stand up guy and is only selling as he has stopped riding. Bike has sat for 2 years but has been well maintained and is show room quality.
Thoughts?

I have a 1994, that I've had for a two years. Runs great. Per an earlier comment, the only thing to be aware of is getting parts, as most stores and sites only carry parts for 1997 and newer.
You can always find a better deal, but you'll know when you find the right deal. Whichever bike you end up with, enjoy it!

I myself have a 1994 Ultra.. However it looks like a street glide. When I bought it, it was missing the King Pack. Anyway, I've rebuilt the engine and got some really good power in it with an Andrews EV-27 and flowed and ported heads. Other than that, it's a GREAT bike.. Would buy another one in a heartbeat! And I also have an '09 Road Glide as well. Prefer the frame of the '94!
