Good day guys.
Anyone know if the final drive belt and pulleys widths, have to match?
As in, could I run a 1 1/8" belt on a 1 1/8 trans pulley and 1 1/2" rear pulley?
Why couldn't you run a 1.5" rear pulley with a 1.125" belt? There's a little space there anyway. Seems to me like it would work as long as the offset was OK, that is, the belt lined up on the pulley without hitting one side or the other. If the belt is centered, that's only 3/16" on each side.
If your present pulley matches your wheel, take a good look at it. Usually the inner flange can be removed. Once you do that it is pretty simple to machine it down. We've done several of them for our customers.
Na, going big wide, John. Going from 16 X 3 to 18 x 8.5 with 240 tire.
Have to go 1 1/8 belt, but finding a matching pulley, in 1 1/8th has'nt worked out.
Found the matching pulley on ebay, for <$200 on ebay, but it's 1 1/2". Having one made is over $600.
That would be an option there Greg.
I'm sure my stock pulley wont work with the new Performance Machine rim. P.M uses a 2 1/2" hole, for the pulley and rotor to fit into.
