Petcock buying
I need to replace my FXR petcock. Harley says this is a discontinued item for them so I looked at J&P, they seem to have replacements for about $20. However the reviews for those are kinda iffy.
Then we jump to the Pingel brand for about $120.00.
Maybe something in the middle? What and where have you guys found replacement petcocks?
Thanks all

I got my pingel from an indy for $80 about four years ago.

Pingel. I spent $$$ on Drag specialty cheapies and thought the second might hold up. Then I moved up to the $80 that didn't hold up at all. Then I bought the Pingel. If you add up the $$$ I wasted and the bag of junk parts I now have .... Well, I should have listened at the very start and gotten a Pingel. Don't short change yourself on this.

Does plugging the line for the VOES eliminate it? I just ordered a Pingel 4311CD. The VOES needs to still be functional correct? Confused . Maybe that doesn't pertain to my ride being a carbureted?
Also it says it has a permanent filter? No need for an inline? Does that also mean it isn't serviceable with a replacement filter? Thought and information always greatly appreciated. Happy Friday Gents!

If you had a vacuum line going to the petcock, you can just plug that line. You still need VOES. You can alternatively just run a vacuum line from the intake manifold (or wherever you pick up vacuum on that system) to the VOES.
The "permanent filter" is going to be the screen in the tank, like the OEM one has. You can clean out the tank if you want to. Or take the petcock out and flush the screen, but it will probably not be necessary. At 80K+ miles, I've never done it. An extra filter in the output line is up to you.
