RE: andrews 37g vrs woods tw6G
The 37 cam is an excellent choice and the Wood cams are proven performers, My only concern would be running the 37 with the 38 degree intake closing number with 10.1 to 1 compression(static), depending on elevation, 10.1 to 1 would be pushing the limits a bit.(dont want a ping monster)What are your thoughts on this Doc?

Rate of change is what determines wheather a cam is noisy or not. Say for instance Leinweber cams used to be used a lot on the drag strip and made more horse power than any body elses cams but their square lobes were hell on parts and you better have a lot of spring pressure or they would rip your valves apart.

Yes. There is a quick rate of change (fast ramps) witht he Woods cams. I actually prefer the TW5G if you have springs that will handle .575 lift. Woods cams are great torque builders. I ran the TW5G in my 03 RKC with HTCC Heads and 10.1:1 CR amd HTCC pistons, made 102hp, 115 tq. It was a blast to ride. The valves can bit just a touch noisy. I am not an Andrews fan at all. Nothing wrong with the TW6G, great cam and will build great low to midrange torque.
Am currently running the TW400-6 in my 07 (.650 lift) and the valve train is quite noisy, cannot adjust out all the noise due to the quick ramps, but again , it hauls a$$. I am consideringchanging out to a HQ575 if I can be convinced it will build the same power with less valve train noise.

But the Firestrom cam pulls pretty hard!
