Default Rattle on Electra Glide

Hi

I have a 2000 Glide Ultra Classic that has developed a rattle, sorry I can’t be any more specific because it does not stay there long enough for me to tie down the area. I thought it was a loose heat shield rattling as it is that sort of tinny noise but all the shields are ok. Then it sounded as if it was coming from the clutch area…
Basically can anyone make any suggestions, sorry it’s a bit vague but so is the noise

check the exhaust bracket that is located directly behind the motor. roughly under the rear of the fuel tank or front of the seat. i think your bike would be the same as my 05 roadking as far as the brackets go. mine ended up cracking and allowed it to bump against the frame slightly and make a rattle and chirp noise. if not there, i would suggest just goin over the bike looking for anything loose. depending on how much of a shake you bike has it could be something that doesnt seem loose at all while not idling. good luck, i know it can be frustrating to track them annoying basturds down!

You might check out the rubber bumper on the kick stand.
Mine had rotated around and had the stand hitting the frame.

Also look in your lower fairings, if you have anything in the little pockets that is loose it will drive you crazy looking for the sorce of the noise.
Don't ask me how I know this...
