Just wondering what kind of average increase in torque & horsepower you guys are getting that installed the HQ500 cams?
Compared to what??? Stock a/c and mufflers??? After Stage I with aftermarket exhaust??? You would be better off asking what tq/hp they get and with what mods from stock.
Also, peak numbers are very misleading IMO.
My otherwise stock 88 with Rinehart TD's and SE a/c makes about 80 hp and 90 tq, but it runs stronger than SE BB 95" motors that have higher peak numbers than my bike. I haven't thought about a 95" build since the cam installation (HQ-0034; pre-07 version of the HQ-500) 2+ years/20K ago.
Yeah, a little more refference is needed to answer your question. I had a SE 103" kit that made 89hp and 101 lbs tq then had the HQ cams and heads installed and jumped to 103 hp and 107 lbs tq. of course with the heads installed, I don't know how much of the increase to attribute to just the cams.
This might help and this might not, the other day I had my bike on the dyno with some screwed up heads, leaking comp releases and it still pulled 86 hp with a fatcat and quiet baffle, tq was awful at only 84, this is how I found the problem, should had 192 ccp but only had 180, anyways look over at VTF in the dyno section and there is some info there.
By the way my build was a 95" with 0034's.
