I use the mr103 and like it. I have a sheet posted in the softail dyno section .
The MR 103is a direct bolt in can with good numbers. The HP 103 really isn't a bolt in with the late closings intake of 49* , to really make it work you would need to bump comp to atleast 10:1. Without any other modifications the MR would be the choice especially for bottom end torque.
Cdonis, did you use that cam as a drop in? Your dyno sheet looks great! Did you have to do any headwork or change valve springs. I have the 103 kit and am waiting to put it in until I have all the components that I want.

Thats bolt in with stock compression, s and s premium lifters and adj. (not quickie)pushrods.
Thanks, evey time I think I have my choices narrowed down something else intrigues me. Im looking at the mr103, se255, and se251. They are all different so not sure which direction I will go yet.
I put a set of se255's in my '11 103 RGC. Bike has all the stage 1 done with a Thundermax. Honestly didn't notice a big difference. Have them out now (doing a Hillside 107), and going Andrews 57h and headwork. I would give Scott a call at Hillside a call, very knowledgeable. If not I have some 255's for cheap.
I have the 255s, they are in my big bore kit. I can get the 251s for $150. But I like the idea mr103 ez start. Then I dont need comp releases
The ez starts are cool. Out of those three in a 103 i would go with the s and s cams. They arent the cheapest. Since you are going to have the top end down i would at least think about a compression bump at minimum, if not maybe a little headwork. Maybe an 030 Gasket set (cheap). I ve talked to s and s and they said 10.5 to 1 max on the mr103. I would double check that with them because it was months ago and i may not remember correctly. Lastly the more people you ask the more answers your going to get ( mostly different ) if you know what i mean. btw thats a negative on the valve springs for me, but my bike is a 2013 and im not sure if the heads you have will be ok without them. I know earlier heads support less lift but that would be a question for a professional.
