Unless you're capable of doing the job yourself, my suggestion is that you look for a catless header on Ebay. I bought mine for $135/delivered.

I like this option because you keep your original header; you can easily reverse the process if you decide that you don't like the results.
I have already gutted the cat and reinstalled it. Installed some nice slip ons, an arlen ness big sucker and a power commander v. It runs awesome and sounds great. Very happy with it at this point. If I ever need to go back to a catted exhaust, they are a dime a dozen on eBay. I can't think of a reason I would need to put the cat back on. I hope not anyway. Thanx for the input

So, I'm getting ready to de-cat by 2014 FLHX and this is what I've found.

First and probably the easiest is to order de-catted head pipes from http://www.wildpigpipes.com/Store1.html

If you staying with the stock 2 out system, A- Wild Pig Head Pipes is the way to go. The parts are "used". And if you send them your OE Pipes, they give you $50 back. Not a bad deal.

With only the cat delete, you do NOT have to re-tune the bike. Just make sure that you label the O2 sensors properly so that you can put them back in the right holes...

If you de-cat and put on after-market slip ons, you will have to retune.

I did the de cat, slip ons and air cleaner. I did have to retune, but a huge difference in sound and performance. I hope you have the same results as me.

Will be doing mine too. Any tips on controlling the wind buffeting ? On my 4th shield and every wind deflector made, no luck yet. 15 FLHXS

IMHO the rear primary tube is too short. I base this on my experience with a Fuel Moto X pipe (basically a stock headpipe with a X chamber where the CAT was). My builder insisted I go with anything but a headpipe designed around maintaining the stock heat shields.

I will say the FM X-pipe made nice noise cancelling and the wife stayed right on my wing......not so much with the S&S Power Tune Duals.

I picked up a de-catted header on here for $80 and a set of Vieds for another $80 and the bike runs and sounds much better than stock. Eventually I'll get an AC and dyno tune but for $160 I am thrilled with the difference
