Like versus (Thumbs Up) "Thanks".
Like is when you LIKE what someone posted as I see it.
Thanks is an appreciation.
I am GLAD they are BOTH here.
Issue (not a technical with the forum) is, I want to click "Like" but I am directed/forced to go to Facebook. I do not have a Facebook account and I do not want yet another place to go to.
I would like to be able to hit "Like" so the poster knows I liked what they posted but not be forced to go to Facebook.

I use the "Thanks" button to tell the poster I like what they said or you wrote exactly what I was thinking.

I've never used the "Thanks" button. If I like what someone says, I'll quote them and say something about it.

I just rather Thank them in a post, Tim. It's more personal.
