Default When installing a new map...

Should the bike be running? Or ignition on only or completely turned off?
Thanks FM!

Got it brother. Thank you!
Edit; now I'm wondering if my last map install was nill and void due to the fact I had the bike running. Dang!

I'll try the new map and keep the older one to compare. Just want that ghetto decell pop crap off my ride!

It depends on the tuning product you are using. Dynojet PC III, PC-V, FM EFI Tuner, & FM Micro Tuner can be flashed when the bike is running and allow you to edit the tune in real time. Because Power Vision flashes the ECM direct, it requires you to shut the bike off when flashing the tune.

If you have a PC-V can you flash it with the bike off and or the unit off the bike completely ? I have the PC v for about 3 years and always flash it with the bike off, guess I have been doing it wrong..... oh well

You can send/receive maps from the PC-V and FM Micro Tune with the bike running or shut off, as well as the unit being on/off the bike as it is powered thru the USB.

is there a basic tutorial for installin a map on the bike?

When download load what you send me, I know it's in my hard drive.
I connect pc to micro and hit /get map/ a window pops ups askin the name of the program I wish to install. And that's where I get lost.
Can uou provide me with info with a step by step as well as an easy to follow /trouble shoot/ in case I'm stuck again?
Thank you!

I know when you do a "Tune" on the Ford Powerstroke trucks,, if you do it wrong you can wipe the PCM clean, and have big issues,,, Hope not on here, what it does there is downloads the "Stock" tune, and uploads the new one,,, if you mess up and have the key off at the wrong time, it won't connect again....
