Playing Games...
So I get a flyer in the mail, a Harley dealer is having a sale on their bikes, and on the flyer is a coupon for 15% off 1 aftermarket accessory.
Well, I was planning on buying something for $1,500.00 so this could come in handy.
I called my local dealer to see if they would match it and they told me they don't play games. They don't overcharge on the price of their bikes and then discount the parts to get you in there. They said they could only give me 10% and that would be stretching it because their isn't enough mark up on the parts to discount them.
Hell, I don't care....15% is 15%....all I want is the discount on the parts...that is close to $224.00 I could save. With 10% I would pay close to $75.00 more.
It seems to me this dealer having the sales is taking away business from them and they are not too happy about it.

that's like every time you buy a new car someone always tells you they know someone that could have given you a better price. It's aggravating as all hell not knowing whether you got ripped off or not.
One thing I do know is that my dealer gives me 10% off on parts...I didn't ask for it...they offered it. That tells me is that their prices are inflated and they can still make money offering that discount.
I've bought parts from Kutter HD online and Surdyke...both of which are substantially less than my local dealer even with my "discount". I believe it's about 20% below the catalog price for HD parts. Check them out and see if you can get a better price through them compared to your local dealership with that flyer.
I've bought from both and have good experiences with both.
