Default michalin commander2 tires vs dunlop 407 2012 street glide

Just for info I got 17461miles out of back tire Dunlop 407 and 21000 out of front tire. When change to new tires michalin commanders recommended .Had them put on respectfully rear tire belt shows at 12990 miles and 9000 on front and cups bad. Call Michelin tire Corp was told wait and see what they could do.Two week later nothing and found out there is no milage warranty not only did they not hold up for extra 5-10% increase they don't back there product either. Hope this helps some one GB

Had bad cupping with michelins on my R1 also. Those were pilot powers. Come to think of it I don't really care for michelin car tires either.

I was looking under my 2011 Ultra this morning and noticed that the HD Dunlop 407 that has been on there for 6,000 miles is cupped so bad that I almost got sea sick. Bike has 11000 miles on it and this is the second rear OEM tire. Going with Michelins or Avons real soon.

I had 10k miles on a set of MCII tires before I sold the bike. Looked almost new.

Sorry to hear about your issues with the Commander IIs. I had them on my 2011 and had 24,000 miles on them when I traded it in for the 2014. And I feel I could have gotten another couple thousand out of them before having to replace. I will definitely be putting on another set when these Dunlops wear out on the 2014. Which should be pretty soon. Got 13,000 out of the ones on the 2011. Currently just under 9k on the 2014.

I have Commander II's on a metric I own and love them. Plan to put Commander II's on my 2010 Ultra soon unless someone here talks me out of it.

OP, interesting first post... How about an introduction?

I've run Dunlops and C2s. The C2s have performed better than I had ever hoped. I won't go back to Dunlops.

Yeah, got 19,000 out of Dunlop E llls, just replaced the MC ll front tire at 22,000,back still has some miles in it. No comparison, the Michelins grip the road better, are smoother riding, wear more evenly. People who don't pay attention to tire inflation are always bitching about poor tire performance. If a tire is cupping, the rider is at fault, not the tire.

I thank every one for input I'm not much on Dunlop either and commander 2 came highley recommended I just didn't have good luck with them and it was michelins ideal for me to wait well intro to my self I've been riding since I as12 and now over 50. Tire pressure and bearings are key to good tire wear as well as riding habit. I'm just not impressed with wear I got out of them or the company support. The tires any one chooses is there choice. The post was just to help inform others so they have more food for thought be for they make choice. Thanks for input.

8300+ miles on my Dunlops and I'm really happy with the wear and handling qualities. I do check my pressures often. No cupping at all.
