Lightest helmet, cost is no object
Hi all,
My petite lady thinks her existing [less than $100] helmet is too heavy. In an attempt to keep her happy, and therefore on the back of the bike, I'm pleading for suggestions on the lightest helmet available.
The helmet must be one that still provides a reasonable amount of protection. Also preferable is a 3/4 style.
At this point . . . I don't care how much it might cost!

Currently I wear a Bell 500. It felt lighter than the HD/HJC one I had before, but a lot more comfortable so that made it easier to wear on longer rides.

Look into this:

I have an older version of this, really light. Mine wasn't a 3/4, more than 2/3. Might want to glance through the Suomy line.

I'm by no means an authority on helmets but I think carbon fiber helmets are light and also strong, not sure maybe somebody could enlighten the both of us on this.

Cycle gear sells a 3/4 Roadster ($39) with flip down shield that is pretty light. Also comes in pretty colors.
Believe you need to take her shopping and see if she can pick out the one for her.
Might be dealing with the Princess and the Pea syndrome, and if so, she will be hard to please.

Just a thought but the 3/4 may feel heavy because it is catching air. Perhaps a . Light full face will be better. If. So check out the carbon fiber ones, they are generally the lightest.
