Question for those that have changed to braided front brake lines on their touring.
Can I switch the front lower brake lines to aftermarket braided ones like Magnum Shielding and keep the upper line stock? Are there any compatibility issues?
Thanks for your feedback.

Mine is complete, top to bottom. Noticed an improvement right away in the absence of that spongy feel in the brake. It replaced an older rubber line, which I suspect was flexing under pressure. I would imagine the right line would be compatible with standard fittings though.

The new chrome line won't get along with the old rubber black line and it'll refuse to allow fluid to flow.

Yeah I hate that when metal and rubber parts have an argument!! OP- I don't see a reason to change part of it,why not all? the upper is all you see when you're riding?

Ya, sarcasm. I'd do both, because they can both be seen.

I have wanted to change just the two short visible front brake lines on my StreetGlide for some time now. Just the two that rise up from the calipers to the junction block below the top of the forks. The cost has stopped me in addition to the fact that I cant seem to find just those two lines available. All the sets I find are complete with the line running back under the tank from the junction block. Parts and labor to install would run in excess of $700. The dealer would hit me with 4 hours labor plus parts cost. Still looking.
