Default Bell Custom 500 w/ bubble shield experience

I have a bell custom 500 open face helmet. I am either considering getting rid of the helmet and get a full face or getting the bubble shield for the 500. I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with the bubble shield at interstate speeds? Does it deflect the wind similar to a full face and is there a lot of buffeting? I ride a street bob without a windshield and I do not normally wear a helmet but figured since I have 2 year old and want him to grow with his father unlike I did I should wear one. I just want something I can wear and help block the wind on the interstate and be able to take it off in town.

I also have a Bell Custom 500 and thought about getting a shield but instead bought an Arai full face. Last time I wore a full face was back in 2001, since then mostly 1/2's with several 3/4's. Because of all the texting drivers I have become more concerned with safety equipment. I really wasn't expecting to like the full face but have been pleasantly surprised. I may have a different feeling in the dead of summer but in colder weather the Arai has been great.

I have the Bell 500 with a flip up face shield. It isn't as warm as a full face but works pretty well for me. The only problem I've found is in the rain. The rain will bounce off your chest up into the inside of the shield. Mine is just a curved shield, not a bubble shield. Oh, by the way, after you've been riding for quite awhile without the face shield and then put it on, don't forget you have it on and try to spit. Doesn't look pretty.

I just saw and read the new 500's are even more compact in size and they now have 5 snaps...

I have the Licks Nov Dot 3/4 with a bilt well bubble shield. I love it other than the shield vibrates and rattles around. I have considered putting foam gasket all along the inside to prevent it from doing so. The only other thing that I dont like about the shield is that if you ride with others you cant flip it up to talk. Unless you get the one that fxdxtsport is referring to. Just my 2 cents!!

I've got a biltwell bubble shield on my 500 and the only problem I have is the rattling also. It's nice when it's cold. I don't use it often but they're only 20 bucks.

I put some small pieces of Velcro on the lower edge that stopped the rattling.

The rattling isn't so bad but not being able to flip it up to spit or pick your nose is a real pain in the ***. They are cheap though and way better than wearing bandana in the rain.

In cool weather I use a bubble shield on my 500 and it works really well for me.
