Default Survey: Oil Filter Removal Method

My review of prior threads shows that there are basically 6 schools of thought on removing oil filters.

Which school are you in?

Default Oil Filter Removal

If I let it drain all night, there is nothing to spill on the front motor mount. I channel it away with a cut up plastic place mat. I notch it to fit around the filter mount and that still leaves enough room for the strap wrench to remove the filter if I'm in a hurry.
