Fractured Tailbone - May not be able to Ride for a bit
Well, getting on a skateboard and trying to show off to my 2 and 4 year old kids turned out to be stupid. X-rays today and an email from my doctor saying "Well, it looks like your tailbone is fractured, I want to get you in for an exam"
I can tell you that for 3 days now, this hurts pretty bad..... not a fun thing to fracture. I'm sure hope I'm not off the bike for too long, but from what I've read it can be months ....

I broke mine about thirty years ago riding a mechanical bull showing off for a blonde hair beauty.
I never had it fixed I don't think they did anything then.
I have to modify all my seats, cut out some of the pad under that area, and it does not give me any problems.
Try making up a pad of firm padding with that area removed or look on the web maybe find something specific and made for this.

After initial injury one should apply ice to keep the swelling down and reduce deterioration of the cells which in turn will causes the area to become black-n-blue.
Definitely go see your physician.
He'll more than likely take x-rays, tell you to apply hot compresses to help circulate the blood better and advance the rejuvenation process of that particular area.
Not much you can do with a fracture in that area.
So did the kids laugh their asses off when you bit the dust?
Definitely go see your physician.

wife has a Really bad tailbone injury from her youth....
All I did was buy a good Pillion seat for her with the Touring Sissy bar pad and Floor-Boards --- On our Hertiage
Now since the MODS she has went from riding 1/2hr long ride before having pain and having to go home to-- riding2-3-hrs without pain before we take a 1/2 break and then we/she can ride another 2-3 hrs before heading in..
