Default Unusual Emblem - Harley Air Intake Cover

I'm trying to find out more about this piece. I can find any other examples of this logo. I was thinking it could be aftermarket, but wouldn't it have to be licensed by Harley due to copyright laws. Any insight is appreciated. Also, I noticed the bolt pattern is different than other air cleaners I've seen.

Thanks, Amber

In the past, Copyright Laws were a lot more relaxed than todays are. Back then most aftermarket pieces didn't cost all that much $$ so the Powers That Be at the MOCO didn't really pay all that much attention to them. If it came in from overseas they probably never knew about them at all.

Pretty cool looking. It'd be interesting to find out how old it is.

The bolt pattern matches a sportster, not sure which years.

I believe it is a Harley product, back in the 80s I had that as a sissy bar insert.

Yep! Harley product. I too had it as a sissy bar insert on a fatboy. They also sold the insert (lady with wings) as metal emblems.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm curious to see it the piece on Switzerland eBay sells. If it does, mine will be soon to follow. Here is another interesting piece I found yesterday. I has some age. The gold plate has worn around the edges and it has some paint loss. I will I know what the back said. It looks like it was intentionally deface with a solder iron. The number appears to be 49, maybe 1949?
