Default Screamin’ Eagle SE120ST Crate Motor

On hdforums home page the Screamin’ Eagle SE120ST Crate Motor is mentioned. Its a 120 ci motor that only produces 106hp. Am I missing something here? Doesn't the 107" produce more than that?

The crate motor costs $5,600. To me it sounds like a big bore kit would be more cost effective.

What do you guys think?

Did you look in the Screamin Eagle catelog? That would be the best source.

what you're missing would be the epa's input. in stock epa form, with stock epa components, sure, you might only get 106hp. but, with non-stock cams, non-stock exhaust, etc. you'll probably get a bit more.

That is at the rear wheel as stated in the HD information. And no even the HO 103 does not come close to 106 at the rear wheel.

It also has the regular HD warranty and is modestly priced and then the online dealers have the 20% off with mo sales tax and free shipping.

Sounds like a deal to me.

Most likely the first buyers will be the ones that order it built that way at the factory. The 14 and older touring bikes which it is not EPA certified for yet will incur the cost of installing.

So if anyone is hating on it just don't buy one. It is just too easy for haters to hate on the internet and not require reason, logic and facts.

A stock 103 probably has 80 HP at the wheel, so 106 HP for the 120 is probably about right. With a little head work, the right exhaust, and a good custom tune, the 120 engine should be in the 120 HP range.

I don't think anyone is hating.

No hate here. Better options out there than the 120r.
