Default Lost some low end after pipe swap

So I went from a 2 into 2 Samson Big gun(short staggerd) to a Vance & Hines big shot long. Which I guess are technically a 2-1-2/with the power chamber. I seem to have lost some low end torque on take offs. I have the set up on a 2008 Deluxe. From my understanding it has a big bore kit and was tuned to the Samson pipes and open air cleaner. The Samson's set up seemed to be a little rich/I could smell from exhaust. The Vance/Hines set up I can't smell the exhaust....maybe because they are longer. Question is...at this point, do you experts think I should pay the 350 to get it tuned or??? Thanks for any input

I got the Vance/Hines used, so I have no idea about the baffles. Is there a way to know other than pulling them out.

Looking in there, you should be able to see them. I went from Longshots to BSLs and gained some low end.

Before spending $350 on a tune, I would try $25 on some Thunder Torque Inserts. They are specifically designed to increase Low and Mid Range power & V&H Big Shots respond well to them.

You can see them HERE

I ordered the W158 TTI's. I couldn't get them to fit between the heat shields/muffler. After a long conversation with myself, I decided to drill thru my heat shields to make the install work. I am not happy that I had to drill thru my chrome heat shields. I am on the other hand very pleased with the low end I got back from the TTI's. They did however quiet down the sound @ idle quite a bit. When on the throttle it is still loud. Over all very pleased with the product and the fact that I didn't spend $350 on a tune...Thanks DK, Great product

I took the baffles out of my VH fishies. I lost some low end. My fix was just twist the throttle a little more ! There is plenty there, and a free fix to boot!
