Default Protecting boot from shifter wear?

Just got a nice pair of Durangos to wear and I was wondering if anyone has used anything to protect their boots from that shifter? Thoughts?

1) Use the heel shifter
2) Polish the boots once in a while
3) Glue a piece of felt under the front peg
4) Leave it...Makes it look like you've been somewhere

Scuff marks on your Durango boots will not void your warranty

Looking down at my feet, the only spot that looks polished on my boots is the spot on the left one where it rubs against the shifter.

You could use this ridiculous thing, but frankly, these marks are a badge of honor.

They make a Velcro neoprene shift lever cover that fits over it to protect your boot

I wasn't a fan of the heel shifter, but having to wear tan boots for the Army has changed that. Having a big, black area on top of the toe is frowned upon. I so miss the professional uniform we used to wear...not to mention durable.
