Default lane sharing poll

Watched YouTube vid posted by nutnfancy..
It was about lane splitting and was eye opening..
Being illegal here, I've never seen it..

I'm a believer.. am I in the minority of ppl who's even seen it?

So poll is do you like it and think it should be used more?
Thx

only done it to save myself getting rear ended, other than that ill sit in traffic because people here try and jam themselves in places smaller than their cars to move farther forward in the stopped lines..

Haha.... Nutnfancy... that guy's awesome. Does very good reviews on guns, knives and gear. Here in Alberta Canada lane splitting is illegal as well. I wouldn't try it on any given day but we have a lot of awful drivers and I would not trust them in the least for changing lanes without signaling.

Being legal here in California, I've done it a few times on the freeway when traffic is stopped. I'll just snake my way through. I believe that what the law intended. Rarely in town tho. But then I don't live in LA or the Bay Area either. Traffic really isn't a problem.

It is not intended for people to blow thru traffic that's flowing at or near the speed limit. But, inevitably there are squids that do just that, probably going in excess of 100mph while the rest of traffic is going 70-75mph. That's just nuts.

I do it very carefully when traffic is stopped or very slow (less than 25mph). I also filter to the front at stoplights when I feel like I have enough room.

Done it..don't particularly enjoy it. That being said...it beats sitting in traffic on an air cooled Heritage

I do it when it is needed, traffic backed up on a hot day. I was brought up on it so it's nothing new to me.

Absolutely I am for lane sharing. Think about it, you can move more traffic in the same area and time. So even if I'm in the cage I get where I'm going faster because people are using all of the roadway.

I do believe there is a safe way to do lane splitting and of course there are unsafe ways. Speed is the main factor for me. If traffic is moving 30 mph I'm fine doing that because wind is passing over the motor and my legs. If it's less than 30 then I will split the lane just to keep air moving. My pipes get so hot if I'm stopping a lot my right leg will get so hot it's excruciating and I feel like I will have to get off of it.

When traffic is flowing 50 on up and I see bikes split the lane it makes me cringe. At that speed I don't think you can make an evasive move if someone in a car begins to drift into you or change lanes entirely.
