All I see is my armpits, but I always do the over-the-shoulder check, anyway...
So, you're not going to do the SOA thing and put the tall lighted mirrors on?

I've got 11 1/2" mini apes on my Electra Glide and flipped the mirrors around...I just adjusted the way I look in the mirrors always double check with head turn... No problem...

You can kind of see what mine looks like in this pic...I tried to lighten it up a bit to see the mirror stem

I saw a rider that had his like that and like Hoggy said, all he could see were his armpits because he kept raising his arms up to look behind him...when he wasn't turning around looking backwards.

Personally, I don't get it. And won't.

As long as I can see the blue scaly cap and white knuckles overlooking the Cadillac hood ornament that's ready to cut me off! it really don't matter where the mirrors go.

On my Sportster with 10.5" mini apes I see great on my Dyna with 14" Outlawz I see my elbow unless I straighten my arm to use the mirror.

I installed 18" apes a couple days before a road trip and I mounted the mirrors underneath. They were absolutely useless to me. About 200 miles into the trip I pulled over and put them on top. They've been up top ever since.

16" apes with the mirrors on the top.

Seeing what is behind me is more important than looking cool.

I had 2 sportys, one with mirrors above, one below. Top mounted 3/4s of the mirror was filled with my shoulders. I see much more with bottom mounted. I think the height of your bars determines what you can see.
