Default hi all, new to harley not to riding, general help me question and intro

hello hello, have had my endorsement 12 years, ex wife made me sell my starter bike and use harley money towards wedding...single is as single does now for 2 almost 3 years and finally got a harley, '88 sportster 883 stroked to a 1200, true dual straights finally got bugs worked out and runs great after sitting 5 years untouched (stepped into a great deal) my question is, what tank is this off of? the guy i bought it from inherited the bike from his father and his father bought it like this, his father got sick just after buying it and died a lil over a month ago and theres no backstory to it other than stroked to a 1200...asking cuz i want to replace the speedometer cluster and put a leather bib type thing on it but i need to know the tank style for the right parts, TIA, name is John

ps-ignore the crap backyard shakercan paintjob, going matte black with a burgundy 'HD' on the tank

Welcome to the Forum from Colorado!

Looks like a tank off of a 2000s Softail.

Pretty sure that is a drag specialties kit for older sporties. I helped a buddy put one on his '91 883. Can't remember the size of the tank...

How about a clear shot of the emblem in the bottom of the speedo face? Looks aftermarket

ex wife made me sell my starter bike and use harley money towards wedding...

Made you? MADE YOU??
How does a woman MAKE a Harley rider do something? Did she pull a GUN on you?

A woman don't make a Harley rider do NUTTIN' He don't wanna do!!

Now that we got THAT cleared up...I would definitely think about ditching the fatbob tank (doesn't look right on a Sporty) & geting a REAL Sporty tank. That would solve your speedo problems since you would have a choice of lots of aftermarket speedos. Try JP cycles. If they ain't got it, you don't need it!
