Exclamation Let me school y'all on riding in the rain

At least as far as visibility goes. Just read the thread on windshields in the rain and at least one person suggested Rain X. Been doing that long cause it is intended for GLASS only and will eventually damage a shield? The product I am telling you about simply works. The exception to the rule is if you use goggles all bets are off as once they get wet inside visibility is about shut down.

So here is the skinny but best used on face shields and bike shields. The product is called Visor Proof by a company called Nikwax. They make other waterproofing products as well and they work but this stuff really shines. Water simply beads off. Turned on my main riding bud to the stuff and he is now a believer. We were headed out one iffy day, leaving from my house and told him to try it out. Sure enough it rained and he was very impressed.

So here is the company site but can be found on Amazon, eBay, both probably your best bets. You can thank me later.

I just use my glove to wipe the water away when I can't see.

I use Plexus. Cleans and protects the windshield, is made for plastics, including Lexan, and is the easiest stuff I've ever used. Spray on, wipe off, cleans that easy, wipes off leaving the windshield polished. I found this while looking for what is used on aircraft windshields.

No windshield...first thing I took off of the bike when I brought her home. So nothing to have to deal with in front of me, will never use one. Got a windshield on my RAM truck.
Staying just below 65mph keep it from stinging the face.

Thks Mike...looks/sounds like a good product. I'll have to give it a try. Tad spends ($13/can), but if it works...well worth the price in safety while rain riding.

So:
You are schooling me on riding in the rain by recommending a product I can spray on my windshield and visor.. Must be a hell of a spray.

I prefer to ride BETWEEN the rain drops! Beats the heck out of getting wet.

But in all seriousness - ever since I got rid of the deteriorating foam goggle insert on my riding glasses/goggles I don't have any more fogging on the inside of the glasses in rain. I don't know what would happen in extreme cold weather riding, and now that I've relocated to FL hopefully I'll never find out!

Pledge. Doesn't last long, but does cause beading.

Only thing we used on Bell '47 bubbles. Then Simple green and pledge on the blades.
