Great Winterizing Idea...Or Not
I had a brain fart.I know ain't the season.Got a new scoot so i want no issues with the HIGH quality chrome plating.
We all know CONDENSATION is the issue in a unheated environment.
Ain't heating that uninsulated garage.Ain't paying storage.Ain't buying a bubble from HD.
I was thinking of covering my bike with a heated blanket. Then maybe a couple layers to keep the metal warm all the time.
Have to plug it to a GFI extension cord so hopefully the garage don't flame -up.
Asking forum opinions. Some type of temperature monitor to give blanket a brake.
Should i patent it....tried that already.Got the patent.Spent the 4g's for a piece of paper
All ears

I know guys who hit all the chrome with WD40 or similar before winter storage. It works fine. I don't do that though, only if the only option was in a shed or (God forbid) had to store it out in the elements.
I just polish heavily after making sure all grime is removed from all nooks and crannies and cover the bike. I have breathable and non breathable covers (cause I got so much crap after all these years) breathable are a bit better. I never had corrosion issues so long as the garage has good seals on the doors.

Actually he is correct. Been storing mine in an unheated garage for years. The only time there is ever condensation is that odd quick warm-up day in the spring, when the bike is still colder than the ambient air. On those days, anything with any decent mass to it is condensing, because it isn't warming up as fast as the air.
