Default Shovel head parts...GOT 'EM!!!!

I recently purchased a '72 Super Glide from our local HD dealer.
They dropped the bike off along with a pile of parts, including the original seat, pipes, front fender and a windshield.
The salesman also left his card with a name and number of a guy with '72 parts.
Turns out I know the guy. I called him last week. He said he'd have to dig the parts out and to call him back.
I called him today. He said he only had a chance to find some of the parts but there's still 2 boxes he needs to go thru.
So far he's found:
A boat tail with the rear fender, an NOS seat for the boat tail, a gas tank and #1 tank bib, parts for the dash, and the oval AC cover.
Oh, did I mention a pair of 'glass bags?
Price? Everything above for $1000.
Can't wait to see what else he comes up with!!!!

This was just too good, I had to share.
I'll post some pics and more parts when I get 'em.
Here's a pic of my '72.

That boat tail alone can bring that if it's clean with original paint, nice score.

That bike looks to be in great shape at 43 years old!

The previous owner had owned it for 20 yrs. Rebuilt the top end twice, repainted the tank.
He was very fussy about the bike, added a lot useful accessories.

Boat tails come up on ebay all the time...I followed 3 in the last couple of weeks...they rarely have a seat that is fixable...much less NOS....great score.

Nice shovel! Now if you really want to go all the way with a restoration, i wonder how hard it would be to find that one year 2 into 1 exhaust. With a little luck the pipes and the straight kicker arm that came on those bikes might be in the box of parts. Oh i just saw where the original pipes came with it!

Yep, and the kicker!
You can bet my surprise when I saw all those parts. The dealer never mentioned they had 'em.
I rode it over to the previous owner's house and he gave me the service manual plus a parts catalog.

Actually that exhaust was available (as an option) up to/including 1975 models.

And I too am looking forward to see what came with the OP's bike. All-in-all it looks like a great rider

If i had all those hard to find parts there would be no way i could not repaint it and put it back to factory original. There are very few of them left in stock condition. I know it was a fairly crappy bike by todays standards but in 1972 when i saw them on the showroom floor i would have thought i was in heaven if i had one. We would love to see what it looks like after you finish with it.
