I got invited to a barbecue in Pennsylvania. I ate good food, drank good beer,went on a pretty good ride, slept in a clean bed...who would do this for my wife and I, my friend Ken, that's who.

Got a tour of the Flight 93 memorial with my friends Doc and Ken on a hot humid day. Ken's wife rode on the back of her husbands Road King just to see us off that memorable day, not an easy ride for her but she went anyways.
Who would do this with us, my friends Doc, Ken and Gail, that's who.

Called my friend who lives in the hills of Eastern Kentucky who said he would go out of his way to take us on a tour of his favourite rides and did he ever. It was fantastic and will provide a lifelong memory for my wife and I. Who would do this for us...my friend Tracy, that's who.

Went to see my bud in Festus Missouri. He and his very nice wife put us up for 2 nights in a very nice home in a very nice neighborhood.
Then he took us on a great ride in the Ozark Mountains and the day we left for Arkansas he escorted us in the rain for a 4 hour ride...in the rain...for no reason other than he wanted to ride with us that day. It was fun and he was fun to ride with. Who would do this for my wife and I, well my friend Scot, that's who.

Now in a couple days I,m going to see a friend who lives near Yosemite, he always is glad to see us as is his girl Karen. I,m always happy to visit them and have a few drinks and a lot of laughs. I sleep at his small but humble home on top of a hill with a million dollar view. Who would do this for us, my friend Denny, that's who.

When I left my friends they made sure I had something special to bring with me for my travels so I would not be bored when it rained. Who would do this for me, well my good friends Jdub, Hines and Scot, that's who.

I,m grateful that these good people I met in this forum have made my acquaintances. I,m grateful for meeting the ones I haven't mentioned here as well...you know who you are.
Good memories are made with good people that will last a lifetime.

 

Sounds like a long and fun ride/visit. I hope you took a lot of pictures.

Yep, probably Saturday sometime later in the day.

 

No problem. Got plenty of time for a nice trip up there and the bikes runnin fine this time. Well its got a small leak but wont let that stop me. Gunna be hot! We are getting a small heat wave tward the end of the week. Cant wait to meet up!

 

Boy I gotta tell ya what Skidder.....this is a great post and a tribute to friendship....obviously you have paid it forward many times in your life and it truly comes back......it may take a little time but it comes back...thank you for a great read ..Doug
