Default Maine weekend

My wife and I did our first long weekend with the new bike. From central Connecticut to Caribou Maine. Three days just over 1300 miles weather was perfect can't wait for the next trip.

Nice. I ride Maine a lot. People don't realize how big of a state Maine actually is. It's the size of the five other New England state combined. Not much up the Caribou way.

Yup some gorgeous scenery in Maine..and food.....
just...dang traffic trying to get back home is what kills me.

Even New Hampshire is getting that way...even during off season!

What do you think is the best time of year to ride in Maine? We are thinking our next trip might be in that direction.

I was there late Sept. early Oct. It was sweet, rivers/creeks low water, and the fall leaves turnin. Just get used to everyone referring to ya as flatlander > laffs

That can be a nice ride depending on which route you take. I grew up in northern Maine (Not far from where you took that photo) so I try to make the RI to northern Maine trip every other year or so for the ride and a reason to visit the family. Much better riding than southern new England.

I grew up in Maine as a kid. Won't be long before there's frost and some white stuff falling especially up near Caribou.
