Default Copper (I think) strip on tank

Does anyone know, or can they speculate on whether or not the gold-colored piece of metal on the tank here has any functional value?

I think it's an interesting design piece, but can't really see a reason behind it. It is missing a part that would typically cover the gas cap?

Doubt it, I thinks it's part of the builder's perspective, plus it matches the large amount of brass use to braze the gas filler in

Default Copper

Looks like brass to me from the color of it and I am sure it is only decorative.

It's the backbone for the whole bike. Without it the bike would flex under load. I can't see the reason for this question. Geeze, it's not even Winter yet.

It's an anti radar re-directional strip. It reflects the radar signal away from the bike. Like a stealth airplane.

Chickin' is right. But it is a dual functioning piece. You put a nylon strap under that brass strap to hang the bike from the ceiling at night.
