Show Me Your Blacked Out Engines
I'm on the fence again, I bought my Lo because I liked the look of the satin chrome engine covers much better than the standard chrome but lately the blacked out engines have been getting my attention. I will say that I don't care for the contrast between the gloss black and the wrinkle black of the engine cases, but really it's no different than it would be with what I have now. I've been looking at the CVO Street Glide and the new Fat Boy S, but it seems like their engine cases have a little gloss to their wrinkle black, or maybe it just seems that way. Oh well, if you could be kind enough to show me what you have done with yours then maybe it will help me make up my mind, no judging just want to get an idea of my options.
Here is a pic of the bike, maybe you can share what direction you would go

My rocker boxes and jugs were crusty and heck when I bought this bike....
First year..pulled the jugs...some steel wool and elbow grease on the rocker boxes...and pain on the jugs...
Following pic...original top on right, mostly done one on the left.
And a pic of her a few steps close to looking better...black lower jugs, plain metal heads, hand rubbed box tops.
