If I took the wrapping off baffles would it just be louder or just sound like crap. Or would thicker wrapping make them have more a low base sound. I'm not sure why they have the wrapping around baffles. Any one know?

OK guys come on, I don't know what the proper word is and I know I forgot the w but the soft stuff they wrap around the baffles.

 

The wrap acts to further dissipate sound and pressure. Sort of like the packing in a pistol silencer.

I can't think of a thing that rhymes with "silencer."

 

Keeping the wrapping on around the baffle will result in a slightly deeper and mellow sound opposed to removing it which then exhaust note will be sharper and result in more DB's.

Just to muffle the sound a little more and provide some more back pressure. 2 stroke silencers have packing just like your baffles.
