Default 250 Mile Spin with the Wife - Izu, Japan

Have most of this week off. Thought I'd spend at least a day of it out on a good ride...

Our route:

Took off at 0100 so we could get there in time to watch the sun rise...

Sunrise is at approximately 0530.

Road overlooking Higashi (East) Izu City. Doesn't look real...

We were tired from the all-night ride in. Took a nap in Tsumekizaki Park...

Took a short hike down to the beach after our nap...

On the hike back up...

Stopped for lunch...

From an onsen (hot springs) overlooking the ocean in Matsuzaki...

Some random pics my wife snapped from the back of the bike on our ride back up the west side of Izu...

Sun starting to set...

Thanks for looking!

Great pics - thanks for for sharing. In March this year, I went to Japan for the first time (Kyoto & Osaka). I would definitely go back.

Beautiful pictures!

My wife's going to Asahikawa for a week to see her family, mostly to see her dad in the hospital.

Thanks for the pics, always like to see the rides in other parts of the world. Unfortunately, my brief stops in Japan were limited to military airbases. At night...

So what's the bike culture like there? Any good reactions to an American riding around on a big American bike?
