Michigan by Motorcycle: Six Days Across Almost 2,000 Miles on a Harley-Davidson

"I've been there and done that" ( couldn't resist ) ... Until you've taken the time to stop and smell the roses ( and see them too ) you'll never really appreciate how much there is to see and do in the Great Lakes State. I've traveled the entire coastline of the upper and lower peninsulas and have been in every county in Michigan. I've also made a complete loop of each of the Great Lakes. You could say that I'm pretty well traveled ( I've been in 4 of the 50 states ) and after 66 trips around the sun I'm still proud to say that I live in Michigan and probably always will. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

I miss Michigan often - I spent the first 24 years of my life there. Now I'm 47, live in Las Vegas and look back on all of the things I took for granted. The green, the Fall, the way kids got to play in the creeks, trees, and fields which helped shape me but unfortunately my kids didn't get....Michigan is a beautiful place. I don't miss the nasty weather or mosquitoes though -

I grew up and live just off the St. Clair River. My high school was on the shore line. Visitors are just fascinated, but I take for granted seeing Canada and large lake ships every day. Winter still sucks though.

My wife and I did a figure 8 around Lake Michigan& Superior in July just over 3k miles in July/15 along the Lake shore as much as possible, she hate's expressway and semi-trucks,nothing to see out there anyway.Point iroquois light Tahquamenon Falls, just a few things to see in the U.P.now the trip across the Big Mac bridge was a real pucker of a ride our first trip across a steel grate bridge as the paved lane was closed for painting equipment what an experience,15days and only 2hours wearing rain gear whats the chances of that happening again.Everyone in the midwest should ride along the Lakes,
