Default Ignition Switch Problem?

I have a 2003 Fatboy, last week when I started it I noticed my odometer was not working, and after taking off, my speedometer did not work. I stopped, switched the bike off and started it again and everything was working properly. It was ok for a few days and then it started doing it again. Now it does it more often, probably 50% of the time. Is this an indication of my ignition switch going out? Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

In my opinion, if the switch was going bad you would not be able to start your bike.

Any other symptoms? Turn signals not cancelling, idle a little low? Might be a bad speed sensor.

No other symptoms. When it first started I could wiggle the ignition switch and it would start working like it was a bad connection.

The wiggling should nail it, replace the switch, good place to start.

This was my intention. I thought this could be a common symptom, apparently not.

I had the exact same symptoms on an 03 superglide. I could wiggle the switch and make the speedo start working.
Changed the switch and that fixed my problem.

Start by cleaning or replacing the speed sensor. If its not the sensor its likely your speedometer needs replaced.
I had the same issue with an 03 Road King. Ended up replacing the speed sensor and the speedometer to fix it

I have to disagree about the VSS. You stated that you are getting no other symptoms so I'm assuming that the bike is running correctly and the signals are still self cancelling. If the VSS (speed sensor) was bad the signals would not cancel and if the bike is fuel injected it would not want to come down to an idle without stalling when coming to a stop. I'm not familiar with your model but are any indicator lights on the face of the speedometer (if there are any) working? If nothing is working (speedometer, odometer, indicators) than I would look for a loose connection at the speedo, a bad ignition switch, or a bad speedo unit.
