I've got the po lease seat, and in my opinion, it's the best thing that there is.
It puts your *** about where it should be on the bike. If you needed to, you could drill some holes, or space it up a little, to move up and/or back.
I really was not real happy with the stock seating position on my road king, but the police seat makes the bike just about what I wanted.

Tall Seat
Take a look at a Russell Day Long Solo Seat. They can move you back and up. You will be able to ride long distances with never any discomfort. I have owned a lot of bikes and the first thing I did to every one of them is purchase a Russell Seat. Do yourself a favor and research this seat.

The older air shock police solo seat from the Evo days had a built in adjustment for height and fore/aft. It was the best seat Harley ever made.
The newer police seats, not so much, but they are nice and wide. I too would look at having Russell build one to your specs. I have the Harley solo and would sure like it 2 inches higher and further back and I'm only 5'11".
