Default Why is H-D dropping the ball on replacing the TC cam cover ?

I see a lot of nice after market covers for sale but they all fall under the word custom. And the company's / sites want $250 to $400 for them.
I would just like to see Harley replace the old cone cover and sell something new for 100 bucks. Come on Harley read this and go to work .

Yes, because Harley Davidson is the first place you should look for something less expensive than offered elsewhere. Right.

Well, my 110th Anniversary Edition Road King came with limited run, one year only timing and clutch cover badges made with solid bronze adornments. If that counts

well, you do know that hd does sell replacement cam covers? they are not $100. the one for the 'burst' collection is $204.95. but it would look kind of silly all by itself, so you've got to replace the derby cover, rocker covers, transmission cover, exhaust tips, headlight ring, etc.....

I just don't understand why they continue to cast the points cover into the cam chest cover... seems like getting more space between the cover and the exhaust would help with a TINY bit of heat...
