Default Love new Iron, hate side mount license bracket

Howdy,
I've got a 2016 XL883 Iron that I really love; but I want to get rid of the side mount license plate bracket, and am looking for ideas on mounting my tag on the chopped rear fender. Has anyone else made the switch, and if so, could you post some pics, or links?
I would also like to change the handlebars to ones like came stock on my 75th Anny 1978 Sportster. Does anyone know what modern bars would be an exact substitute?
Thank you in advance.
Larry

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new ride. You will have a better chance of getting ideas and sportster-specific advice if you post this Sportster forum.

One of these worked for me. I bought it used, but I think it's made by a company called Easy Brackets. You mount your stock turn signals to the side of it. I've been using it for over 40,000 miles. No problems.

Seems like it's usually the other way around. Some don't like the plate on the fender so they move it to a side bracket.

Yes, that is the one I have. I bought it used from a member here, and forgot the brand. Like I said before, a nice accessory.

The factory side mount is nasty, remove it and get a slimmer/smaller one mounted off the shock bolt. I prefer DK customs on my wideglide

Never did make sense when that side mounted license plate came back into style, many many ripped pants legs and stitched up shins from those back in the 70's last time it was popular.
