Default harley suspension pump

SCrewed the pump on to the air shock doesnt register anything and will not pump up you can put you finger over the hole on end of pump and pump it and you can feel the air and see the gauge moving. Tried it on my wife bike same thing nothing. What is wrong? Must not be pushing the air valve down but why?

You have to screw it on fairly tight.......hard to explain or provide photos.

Has to be screwed on far enough to depress the stem.

If screwing down tight on the valve doesn't work, replace the valve core in the stem.Simple fix.

If you are sure it is not the stem, but the pump, I have a Progressive 0-60 lb. one that I used twice before I went to an adjustable shock. It cost me $50 bucks I think, but it's not doing me any good....
