Default Front cylinder not firing.

Hi I have a 1997 Harley Davidson Police FTLH. Yesterday the front cylinder stopped firing the back runs fine. I pulled the plug out and noticed there was no spark what so ever. I tried a new plug and still nothing. It has a single power coil. Any ideas on what this could be besides the coil? I would hate to remove the gas tank that looks like a lot of work. I would appreciate your help it is my only means of transportation.

Its possible you have a bad spark plug wire. Try taking a multimeter and testing the resistance between both ends of the wire. If your resistance looks good, you're going to have to look into replacing the coil. Just some thoughts from all of your friends here at WanaRyd Motorcycle!!!

Start with the plug wires. Cheap. If that doesn't work then it's probably the coil.

Default Front cylinder not firing

Would the coil just stop firing on one side? It is a single power coil. Working on removing the coil and wires now.

Wire showed up bad, I replaced the wire and still no spark. Now it will not even crank over just a clicking noise coming from the right side cover. Please help.

You might want to try posting this in the EVO section.

Check battery connections, grounds, starter relay, ignition switch for starters. Fully charged battery is 12.85 volts & will drop to 10.5 volts when you crank it over.
