Default Brick and mortar Gear Store

Besides Cycle Gear, where is a good place (or places) to touch, feel, try on helmets, jackets, gloves etc of various brands. I love RevZilla and several other on line places, but I hate getting three pairs of whatever, trying them on, then having the eat shipping back. I want to go some place, pick out what I want and leave with it.

Houston? Dallas? Mobile? Pensacola? I'm in SW Louisiana, so I don't want to know about places in Montana.

Thanks

well cycle gear will have a decent selection of helmets like Shoei, AVG and Bilt, but I"ve never seen Scorpion or Arai (or others) For Arai and Scorpion helmets here in Houston there is a place called two wheel toys in pasadena. It caters more the the crotch rocket crowd but they do have a nice helmet selection. Other than that, most of the local places here have the same ole leather stuff you can find anywhere. I'm sure there's probably something closer than Houston, and there are MANY places in Houston that I don't know anything about.

You should have a Honda Motorsports dealership around you. The ones by me tend to have a good selection of helmets & jackets. Not totally directed to the sport bike crowd since they also sell cruisers and goldwings.

Bike rallies (especially major ones like Daytona and Sturgis) usually offer lot's of vendors so you can get some hands on with the products.

The cycle gear's around here carry mostly junk or their house brand, which I consider junk. I find some of the Euro dealerships carry decent gear.

If you follow the IMS circuit, all the big online vendors show up with their gear to try on.

I bought my Arai Classic M Snell approved helmet from the cycle Gear in Ft Worth, Texas, and I just got a new Cycle Gear catalog and they have the Arai helmets in it. Do you need a phone number, I'll give it to you. Oops I just remembered I tried on a Arai full face at the store then ordered the Classic M
but I tried it oh at the store a week later and bought it.

Cycle Gear and Revzilla have recently announced an amalgamation of sorts. The owners of both companies have formed a joint partnership that will then own both companies. I would expect the companies to share a joint warehousing and wholesale infrastructure in future.

Good luck finding a brick and mortar with a decent selection. Dealers don't stock much riding gear anymore. The Cycle Gear stores in Illinois have so much of their own branded products there's little selection of other brands.

I wish my Cycle Gear had good stuff. Arai FTW!
