Default Hello from northern IL

Hi folks!

I'm a 62 year old hard-working guy who has owned several Japanese bikes, but never a Harley.
So, I figure it's about time. And I deserve it. ;-)

My situation; I'm looking at several local examples of last year's models, to save myself some $$.
I don't want a big road bike, as I don't have plans for long, cross-country trips. I lean toward a nice stripped-down, nimble bike.

I've narrowed my search down to either a Wide Glide or a Street Bob, and there are several local offerings, each in a couple different colors, all 2015 models.

I just can't seem to settle on which model.

Does anyone have any input here? A month ago, I didn't know beans about Harleys, and I still don't know much; but I want to make a decision soon.

Thanks!

Doug

Hello and welcome! I live in the Rockford area. I haven't ridden either choice but I wish you luck in your adventures.

If you haven't made the journey out to Woodstock HD, it's worth the time.

Welcome from the Joliet area. I would say if you haven't ridden either one is to see when your dealer has demo days coming up and take both for a spin. If that is not an option try to see if they will let you test ride them. Get the one that suits you the best.

Thanks, everyone!

Sorry; I left out the part about the weather clearing up long enough for me to tool around in the Janesville WI dealer's parking lot yesterday afternoon, on both a Dyna Wide Glide and a Street Bob.

I liked them both; still tough to decide..

Hello and welcome from the far south! I still ride in the central Illinois area every summer for 6 or 7 weeks.

Several years ago I had a white wide glide. I really loved the way the bike handled and looked. I have only owned a few Harley's over my 40+ years of riding but I liked the WG the best!
