Default Almost traded in the bike

Went to the local he dealer and started poking around. Right now they have a vivid black breakout which I thought was real nice looking. It got me thinking I have owned my night train since it was new in 2007 and maybe it is time for an upgrade. The dealer tossed in a decent number of 7700 out the door with trade in of my night train. In my head I didn't think that was worth it cause for that money I could do a full makeover on my bike to make it just as nice as the breakout. then they started showing me the street glides and that was about the time I started to loose my firm grip of saying no. They offered a vivid black glide for 9000 after trade out the door for me and I just about shook hands when my wife slapped the crap out of me and gave me the better not look. I was so dazed I almost imagined how nice it would be to be single and homeless with a new street glide. But the second swift smack brought me back to reality and now I am trying to figure out how to convince my wife a glide would make her life better. Unfortunatly my wife refuses to ride on the back of a bike so comfort won't fool her. At this point I better keep enjoying what I have or start trying on new wives

Just think how nice that kitchen is going to look!

I have a firm rule, when I visit the dealer, I don't talk to sales people. I will never trade in my bike, but I certainly have a weakness for another. Luckily, I'm single and don't have to worry about that dynamic. Keep dreaming though!!

I've had 4 different bikes since 2008. every year I get the itch. Already had two dealers work up numbers on a new Road Glide. so hard to resist. Then you look on CL and see all the bikes people are trying to sell. it's an addiction. Just had someone come over and give me an estimate for a new garage. Hopefully that will tie up the money and keep me occupied till the urge passes. But its so hard.

My problem is when I look at bikes I focus on the things that I don't like. I really don't like any Harley as they sit on the show room. I just see potential to be great which leads me to adding way more than just the cost of a bike. My wife knows this and she is keeping me strait cause she has survived my night train build and changes and she is not ready to start over again.

Trust me, I know the addiction! I've had FOUR different bikes in the last 12 months!! A 2011 FXDC, a 2010 Softail Deluxe, a 2008 Street Glide, and now, a 2016 Low Rider. I gave my wife the Low Rider title and told her to hide it from me!

I would like a new bike but then I look at the prices of the new touring bikes and thats enough to bring me back to reality. Plus my bike has 99,881 miles on it, so I'm sure I wouldn't get much for trade in.

Buy her a Lexus.

So now it's only, your bike, $9K, and the cost of a new car. Somewhere North of $70K should cover everything. Enjoy your new bike.
