Default 6D Technologies New Helmet

I reviewed the SHARP and CRASH ratings for helmets (Australia and England) before buying one. Cost/benefit pointed to 5 Star rated HJC IS 17. It's a fine helmet.

Then I saw this: http://www.6dhelmets.com/#!technology/c15pp

Supposedly, they are marketing their technology to the NFL.

Question to you guys - especially those who believe (as I do) ATGATT: Is any helmet worth $900? I bought two, so we're talking $1800.

Tags still on them so I can send them back. And if I do, stick with the HJC's or get something else? Shoei Neotec? Schuberth?

In the past 4 years I've bought an Arai Signet-Q ($600), a Shoei Neotec ($600), and a Schuberth C3 Pro ($800, but I stole it at $550).

What separates good gear from gear is how it disappears when you're riding. I don't notice the Arai or the Schuberth, so I have no issue wearing them (the Shoei is a great helmet that my head doesn't fit....If you need a Medium Neotec, PM me). So if those helmets disappear when they're on your heads, then they're worth every penny.

If you don't mind spending the money and they are everything you are looking for, keep them. Hows the fit? Are they quiet enough as well as good ventilation for those hot days in Louisiana? I just opted to go with a modual after many years wearing a half. Went with the Neotec and so glad I did. Knocks the wind noise way down but the exhaust seems much louder. Not a bad thing for me, I like the sound of my bike. I opened the vents just to see what it is like and really cools things off in there. A lot louder compared top when they are closed but I feel it will be worth the trade off. Still plan on wearing the half when just bombing around town but If I plan on hitting the highway, on goes the Shoei.

The fit is very good. Can't answer anything else because if I wear them, I can't return them.

Local Cycle Gear should have the Neotec. Think we'll try them on today.

Thanks.

I wear Arai as they fit me well and are light, but looking for something else as I have had some issues with quality on some of last couple Arais...will check these out.

Nice look'n lid and I know you can't put a price on cranium safety, but yowza...almost $900 bones! That think better fit/wear/ride like it's not even there.

Quality remains long after the price is forgotten. Any helmet that feels so good it makes me want to wear it is worth whatever the asking price is, in my opinion.

Before I spent that much money on a helmet, I'd check out Heads Up Display (HUD). No doubt, they're probably even higher. But no, I wouldn't pay $1800 for 2 helmets. I could bike a dirtbike for that.
