A couple years ago North Carolina made vertical plate illegal.
I've seen more and more guys running them vertical as of late.
Any of you guys from NC mount your plate like this and if so, do you get stopped?
I'm tired of bagging my leg on the plate walking around my bike in the shop

 

I bought my son a 883 Iron and it came with the vertical plate mount, have had it for a couple years now and never had any issues.

 

I think its more like, if the cop wants to mess with you, they'll pull you over for that. I remember when that silly law passed and I haven't heard of it being repealed. I have friends around the State who run with vertical plates and haven't had a problem.

 

Same as the license plate frame law. I see tags all the time with "North Carolina" and "First in Flight" almost all covered up. It just depends on the cop who pulls you I guess. I'd leave the plate alone and wait till I got challenged on it and plead ignorance.
