Default Cop bike mods

I've always wondered how much officers can mod the bikes they use.. Anyone care to fill me in?

I would guess that its 0, I don't think they are allowed to do anything to their cars, so I can just assume they are not allowed to do anything on their motorcycle.

There were some modified bikes at the rodeo I just attended in Texas. Most common were raising the rear of the seat dramatically to force you forward and removal of the jiffy stand. A few had pipes and I am reasonably sure that some had cams and other engine work.

Is that officer done/paid or is that something you request from the department?

Not completely sure but I know that lot of the Texas agencies will give the officers a "vehicle allowance" and they buy their own bike (and presumably any mods).

I taped over the side reflectors, added long stem mirrors, phone charger, changed the license plate frame and added a few chrome doo-dads.
Since the captain rode, mine came with a stage 1, SE air cleaner and pipes.
CHP bikes get a cam change too.

Our shop did a 4 5/8 (89in) S&S stroker kit, cam, & ported heads for a CHP officer's FXRP back in the early '90's. Came out of his pocket, too.

I've seen an Alabama state motor with apes, probably 13-14 inch.
